Samantha Skeich, registered nurse

A kind, humble and smart nurse, Samantha Skeich recognizes when her colleagues or patients are hurting. She always has an open ear and listens sincerely when those around her need support. She takes time to listen to her patients’ fears and make them feel supported.

Samantha is an amazing labour and delivery nurse. She advocates for her labour patients to have their needs met, even when met with resistance. She does this work in a kind, collaborative way. Samantha works to ensure the family is at the centre of the care she provides. She finds time during busy days to have conversations and make sure her patients feel heard and seen.

Without discrimination, Samantha cares for her patients deeply. She cares for every patient equally, whether they are challenging or easy; she always gives them the benefit of the doubt. Samatha treats her patients with dignity and does her best to ensure they feel important and valued.

Samantha is always willing to learn from colleagues or patients. She is willing to go to others for support and is grateful for the wisdom and knowledge shared.  

Paying attention to those around her, Samantha lets her colleagues know when they have done outstanding work. She wants them to know she cares. She notices when teammates are having a challenging day, and is there for a shoulder to cry on or a listening ear.
