Adrienne Ferrer, clinical and quality lead
Adrienne Ferrer’s teamwork makes a difference to everyone at the site. She works closely with staff, residents and families to keep everyone supported and informed. Her positive, approachable attitude encourages open communication and strong teamwork.
She shares her years of nursing experience to guide licensed practical nurses (LPN) and health care aides (HCA) in giving the best care possible. Adrienne stays late when needed, helps with ideas and teaches all shifts even coming in as early as 5 a.m. to help the night shift nurses with a complex case. She mentors without judgement, making it easy for staff to ask questions and learn.
When the third floor struggled with a complex ostomy case, Adrienne tried different ways to share her advice. She went to the floor to change the appliance and understand the issue better. She made visuals to help LPNs learn and feel more confident. Despite the challenges, she stayed positive and encouraging.
Adrienne is approachable and always ready to help even when she is busy. She finds ways to teach floor LPNs about the charge nurse role such as helping them understand what to do during outbreaks on weekends. Adrienne worked with the HCA educator to organize the supply room and set up a tracking system to make it easier for all floors to manage their usage. As the occupational health and safety committee chair, Adrienne listens to everyone and helps solve problems fairly and thoughtfully.
