Paulette Boardeleau, environmental services worker

Paulette Boardeleau’s presence lifts the entire site. She bridges gaps between departments, supports patient dignity and helps the team function better. Working with others, not just around them, she helps improve care and community. She models that teamwork is about honouring every individual as a valued partner.

She actively partners with patients to enhance their care experience. Paulette listens attentively to their concerns and works alongside them to find meaningful solutions. She ensured a patient received their first-ever birthday cake creating a moment of joy that reflected shared decision-making and respect. Paulette also advocated to move patients into rooms with working TVs, personally tracking the number of TVs needed to resolve the issue. She prioritizes patient dignity and comfort, meeting patients where they are and improving their experience through everyday actions.

Paulette does not just raise issues, but she also follows through. She communicates clearly with nursing, environmental services, leadership and facilities, maintenance and engineering, bringing forward practical solutions and updates – always with a focus on the patients. Paulette brings ideas to huddles, keeps everyone in the loop and uses her experience to advocate respectfully and effectively for improved patient experience. She is approachable, realistic and easy to work with.

She sees what is needed and acts with purpose. She does not wait for problems to escalate; she creates solutions that benefit everyone. Her current mission is improving curtains for privacy and cleanliness.
