Facilities Maintenance Engineering duo (Amanda and Michael)

Amanda Sikora, Michael Lucenko

The recreation team relies on the facilities maintenance and engineering duo of Amanda and Michael. Whether it is guidance about a project, advice about how to install a piece of equipment or the best way to hang a bulletin board, Amanda and Michael always respond clearly, patiently and willingly.

The recreation team relied on Amanda and Michael to help create a more efficient department. They built cabinets for the kitchen allowing the team to organize and store supplies safely and neatly. When the team decided they needed one more cabinet, Amanada and Michael put it together without hesitation. Due to their support, the recreation kitchen runs more efficiently and looks modern, organized and professional.

Recreation therapy planned a multi-sensory room. This is an exciting large-scale project that required specialized expertise to properly assemble and install equipment like light tubes, fibre-optic lighting and cabinets. Amanda and Michael ensured they assembled every piece correctly and securely mounted them to code so the room would be safe for residents.

Amanda also helped during the recent campfire and petting zoo where she assisted in making the events run smooth. She managed fire safety, opening locked doors and keeping the building safe while the animals were unloaded and loaded.

Amanda and Michael demonstrated patience and understanding with the recreation team. Their skills brought ideas to life. Amanda and Michael’s contributions made the team’s work easier and created better spaces and enhanced programs for residents.
