Showing up every day committed to doing her best for her team and residents Amy Young takes responsibility for her actions. Her team trusts her deeply. She helps create a safe environment for everyone.

Amy volunteered to assist the facility with obtaining COVID-19 and Influenza consent from residents. During this process, she identified an error where a resident’s legal documentation was not in Connect Care. This oversight posed a risk to the resident’s safety as it incorrectly indicated the resident was their own decision maker when they were not. Amy promptly recognized the issue and took immediate steps to address it.

Five months later, Amy again helped with vaccine consents. She came prepared, organized and expressed her commitment to preventing an error like the one that happened previously from happening again. Working closely with the administration assistant, she thoroughly crossed-referenced every resident’s legal documentation in Connect Care to ensure that she obtained consent from the appropriate person. Amy took on this additional work herself, demonstrating her strong dedication to safe resident care. She reorganized the consent collection process to make it safer and more accurate.

Amy listens attentively to her team and brings their concerns forward working proactively towards resolutions. She advocates for necessary resources and assistance. She makes sure everyone on her team is on the same page to avoid miscommunications. Although Amy is still a newer nurse, she is growing into a strong leader at the site.
