Trish Flores-Worobec, granting officer
Always keeping residents, families and care teams at the centre of her work, Trish Flores-Worobec understands grants are not just about funding, but also about the real moments of comfort, joy and connection they create in care settings. She approaches her work with patience, kindness and a genuine desire to make processes feel supportive rather than burdensome for those delivering care.
A potential donor wanted to donate a piano to enrich the lives of residents at the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre. The piano was the donor’s grandparents, and they both had worked at the site in the 1940s. When the donor reached out to inquire about the potential donation, Trish worked diligently with the site to find a place where the piano would have the biggest impact. Through Trish’s work, the piano became more than a donated item, it is now part of daily life at the site supporting music, recreation and shared moments that bring happiness, community and emotional wellbeing.
Trish looks for ways to improve how Covenant Foundation supports care teams through the granting process. When she led the development of a new grant portal, she learned best practices and applied them in a practical, use-friendly way. She is available to guide staff through the process.
Trish helps turn donor generosity into items and programs that bring comfort, dignity and connection. From music that brings joy to residents to wellness initiatives that support families in vulnerable moments, her work helps fund improved daily life.
